Edward M. Feidt

Edward M. Feidt, age 86 of Hastings died November 27, 2014 at Augustana Health Care Center in Hastings. Edward was born February 16, 1928 in Hastings, MN to Eugene and Susan (Herber) Feidt. He served in the Army from May of 1946 through October of 1947. Edward married Kathleen OShaughnessy on October 7, 1950 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Miesville. He retired from Smead Mfg. after 38 years. His memberships included the Knights of Columbus. He was an accomplished picture framer and woodworker He was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen this past February; parents; daughter Mary Feidt; infant son Gerald; granddaughter Janelle Blackmore; daughter-in-law Brenda Frankenberg-Feidt; five siblings Theresa Knowlton, Rita Bauer, Arnold, Bernard, and Raymond Feidt. Edward is survived by his children Jeanne (John) Blackmore of Sartell, MN, Eileen (Charlie) Godbout of West St. Paul, Judy (Tom) Heimerman of Shoreview, LaVerne (Doug) Schleichert of St. Paul Park, Mike (Karen) Feidt of Hastings, Maureen (Kevin) Weber of Cannon Falls, Maurita (John) Golz of Inver Grove Heights, Tom Feidt of Forest Lake, Carmen (Joe) Schloesser and Bill Feidt of Hastings, and Patty (Golden) Kroeger of Rochester; also 22 grandchildren and 18 great grand-children; siblings Francis "Fritz" (Marian) Feidt and Marie Elizabeth "Betty" Hoffman. The funeral Mass, officiated by Fr. David Hennen will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, December 2 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 West Fifteenth Street, Hastings. Visitation will be held AT CHURCH from 4-8 PM Monday and one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers are Jeff Blackmore, Joe, John and Tony Heimerman, Ted Godbout, Jack Schleichert, Mike Weber, Matt and Ryan Golz.
