Edmund Charles “Ed” Rohr, age 76, of Hastings, passed away at Regina Medical Center on October 22, 2015. Ed was born in Hastings to Peter and Marie (Mainz) Rohr on January 1, 1939. He grew up on the family farm in Demark Township and graduated from Hastings High School in 1956. He stayed farming for a couple years after high school, then went to work hauling milk. Ed then switched gears and worked as a carpenter with Glen Johnson until he started his career with 3M. He retired from 3M in 2001 after 40 years. Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his family, and he lived for Happy Hour. He is preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Ed is survived by his loving wife, Carol; children, Rigel Rohr; Kelsey (Sherrie) Rohr; Tanya (Dave); Anthony (Elaine) Rohr; Shaun (Melissa) Macioch; and Kim Christenson (Steve); grandchildren, Karina (Brody), Dylan; Kristopher; Chase, Madigan, Carlie; Paige, Jesten, Andrew, Abby; and Kailey; sister, Mary Jean (John) Engstrom; sisters in law, Mary Agnes Rohr; Shirley Rohr; Margaret Rohr; and many other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Fr. Dave Hennen, will be held on Friday (10/30) at 10:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St., Hastings. A visitation will be held on Thursday (10/29) from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring St., Hastings, and one hour prior to the mass at church on Friday.
