Dorothy S. Seifert

Dorothy Seifert, age 86 of Hastings, died peacefully on Wednesday May 16, 2018, at Regina Senior Living in Hastings. Dorothy Sophie was born on May 30, 1931, in Kinney, MN, to Ignace and Sophie (Galovich) Vukad. She grew up in Buhl, MN, attending Buhl High School. Following graduation she attended Vocational School in Milwaukee, WI. In 1961, Dorothy married Francis "Bud" Seifert at the Basilica in Minneapolis. The two moved to Hastings in 1963. She worked in bookkeeping in the St. Paul suburbs for many years. Dorothy enjoyed quilting, sewing, ceramics, and taking care of her family. Dorothy is preceded by her parents, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins in the Buhl/Chisholm area. She is survived by her husband, Francis "Bud" Seifert; children, Gene Seifert, and Diane (Doug) Peterson; grandchildren, Brooke and Bethany Seifert, Kayla and Nathan Peterson; and great-grandchild, Joey Malena; and by other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2018, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Hastings, with Father Martin Siebenaler officiating. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church on Saturday morning.
