Dorothy M. Stoffel, age 88 of Miesville, died peacefully on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Regina Medical Center, Hastings, following an extended illness. Dorothy M., the daughter of William and Odelia (Schug) Williams was born on January 10, 1927 in Victoria, Minnesota. Following her education at Victoria Grade School, Dorothy entered into the St. Benedicts Convent and was a Nun for many years. She later married Bernard P. Stoffel on June 25, 1977 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Miesville. He later preceded her in death on June 11, 2003. Dorothy was a devoted member at St. Josephs and volunteered in many different ways over the years. She also enjoyed working at Southview Acres Nursing Home in St. Paul as well as volunteering her time at local schools as a "grandparent" for students to read with. Dorothy loved to cook and bake, tend her flower gardens, sewing and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Ruth Smed and Ken Williams; her step-mother, Anna; and by her husband, Bernard: Dorothy is survived by her children, Julie Numbers of Ohio, Paul (Stephanie) Stoffel of Inver Grove Heights, Cindy Stoffel of Apple Valley and Gene (Laurie) Stoffel of Miesville; grandchildren, Ashley, Allison, Sarah, Jennifer, Ron and Eric; her many great-grandchildren; siblings, Don (Donna) Williams and Joan (Dale) Heitz; sisters-in-law, Florence Munson, Betty Brickner and Barb Williams; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 5, 2015 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Miesville, with Father Fernando Ortega officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-6 p.m. Sunday AT CHURCH and also for one hour prior to Mass on Monday morning. Pallbearers are Randy Peine, Charles Heitz, Mike Otto, Don Williams,Jr., Rich Kadrlik and Jim Brickner; honorary pallbearers are Karen Otto, Rita Molitor, Deb Lundell, Sue Niebur, Cheryl Wiederholt and Janean Milliren. Arrangements are being completed by Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Service in Hastings.
