Dorbra Nelson

Dorbra Arline Nelson, age 59 of Hastings, Minnesota, was healed of Lymphatic Cancer and Multiple Sclerosis on April 17, 2009, and is now in the arms of her Savior Jesus, whom she so loved and lived for. Preceded into God's Heavenly Home by her father Henry Hofland and brothers Douglas and Daniel. Her beloved husband Don survives her, along with cherished daughters Nicole and Krista, precious grandson Kyle, all richly blessed by her optimistic, gentle, loving spirit and unshakeable faith. Her wonderful mother Arline Hofland, brothers Duane (Karen) Hofland, Darryl (Ruth Ann) Hofland, Dean Hofland, and sisters Dixie (Michael) Weise, Dawn Heckenkamp and lifelong dear friend Charlene (Charlie) Connell will also greatly miss her. Dorbra gave up her career in nursing and embraced life's noblest profession of mother and homemaker in raising her two daughters. A voracious reader, writer and article clipper, she also enjoyed gardening, traveling and had a passion for reading and studying her many Bibles. Dorbie was a devoted mom who adored her husband, unconditionally showered her children and grandson with endless love, and involved God in every decision and activity. Cries of 'Praise God' and 'Thank you Jesus' are blessed memories of our time with her. A true connoisseur of fine chocolates, Raspberry wine and engaging conversations; this fierce prayer warrior will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Please join the celebration of Dorbra's life on Wednesday, April 22 at 11:00 AM at the Hastings United Methodist Church, 615 15th Street W, Hastings. Visitation at the Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring St., Hastings on Tuesday, April 21 from 4 -8 PM and one hour before the church service on Wed. Interment Lakeside Cemetery in Hastings.
