Donna Mae McGoon, age 84, of Hastings, MN, our beloved mother, grandmother and wife passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 21, 2009 to join her 7 brothers and 4 sisters, together with their parents, in eternal life. She is survived by her husband, Melvin �Mac� McGoon; son Randy (Jenny) McGoon and daughter Cindy (Armin) Hoffmann, all of Hastings; 4 grandchildren, Matthew McGoon, Emily McGoon (Patrick Short), Aaron Hoffmann, and Adam Hoffmann (Rachel Egeberg); brother, Bernard (Darlene) Schultz; also many nieces and nephews. Donna was born March 18, 1924 at home in Minneiska, MN to Albert and Anna (Knopert) Schultz. She graduated from Winona HS in 1941, and married Mac on March 6, 1943. Last year they celebrated theirSixty-fifth wedding anniversary. In 1947, Donna was diagnosed with MS, but had remained in remission for over 40 years, until challenged with health complications during the past 8 years. She and her husband founded Mac McGoon Photography Studio in 1956, where she was an intricate part of the business until retiring. Donna�s family was the most important thing in her life. She loved playing 500 and enjoyed bird watching from her porch. Her beautiful smile, faith in God and positive spirit will be deeply missed. The Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Lloyd Menkewill be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 27, 2009 at Our Saviour�s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 400 W.Ninth Street, Hastings. Interment will follow in Lakeside Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the CHURCH from 4-8 pm Thursday and 1 hour prior to the Friday service. Pallbearers are Aaron Hoffmann, Adam Hoffmann, Rachel Egeberg, Matthew McGoon, Emily McGoon-Short, and Patrick Short. Honorary pallbearers are Marv Schaber, Dawn Krauss, and Bruce Gaylor.
