Donna M. Overstreet

Donna M. Overstreet, age 83 of Hastings, died peacefully on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Augustana Health Care Center in Hastings following an extended illness. Donna was born on July 31, 1932 in Blockton, Iowa to Vivian and Marie (Weaver) Cornett. She graduated from Blockton High School with the class of 1950 and on July 4, 1951, was united in marriage to Randall Overstreet at The Christian Church in Bedford, Iowa. Donna enjoyed dancing and listening to polka music. She also loved spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Karen Norton; grandson, Eric Bauer; great grandsons, Brandon Hamilton and Santos Hamilton; brothers, Joe, Bob and Billy Cornett; sisters, Betty Cornett and Beverly Kenny. Donna is survived by her husband of 64 years, Randall of Hastings; her children, Richard Overstreet of Hastings and William (Terrie) Overstreet of Carolton, TX; her eight grandchildren, Jennifer Auchampach of Prescott, WI, Brenda (Ron) Thurmes of Hastings, Donna (Erich) Och of Oakdale, Brian (Hanh) Hamilton of Shakopee, Brent (Laura) Hamilton of Oakdale, Dr. Amanda (Stephen) Fredeyen, Paul Overstreet and Daniel Overstreet, all of Dallas, TX; her twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; her siblings, Sam (Mary Jane) Smith of Hastings, Sharon (Jim) Stam of Cannon Falls; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorial Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Hastings United Methodist Church, 615 West Fifteenth St., Hastings, officiated by Gordon Gathright. Interment will follow in Lakeside Cemetery, Hastings. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. In lieu of flowers, Donnas family requests memorials to the donors choice
