Donald W. Priester

Donald W. Priester, age 68, of Hastings died September 8, 2011 at his home. Donald was born on May 19, 1943 in Pipestone to Wayne and Leona (Bartels) Priester. He was united in marriage to Kathleen Gilbert on August 28, 1963. Donald loved the outdoors, fishing and spending time with his grandkids. He also enjoyed lending a helping hand to others when needed. Donald retired from 3M in 2002 after 33 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother Allen. Donald is survived by his wife Kathleen; children Sandra Christianson of Denver, Colorado, John (Kristine) Priester of Hastings, Shawn Priester of Eagan and Jody Schroeder of Lake Elmo; grandchildren Alyssa, Amanda, Erin, Linnea, Faith, Rachel, Zoe, Mya and Pippa; great-grandchildren Brandon, Ariannah and Caeleb; siblings Carol Pantekoek, Elaine Hiniker, Laurie Blomgren and Robert Priester. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Jim Anderson will be held at 10AM Monday, September 12, 2011 at The Harbor Church, 11125 W. Pt. Douglas Rd. S., Hastings. Visitation will be from 4-7PM Sunday, September 11, 2011 at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 E. 7th St., Hastings, and also one hour prior to the Monday service at church. The pallbearers will be John Priester, Randy Hedegaard, Jon Schroeder, George Beasley, Lou Beasley and David Haviland. Private family interment.
