Donald "Sputzy" Meier

Donald C. 'Sputzy' Meier, age 86, of Hastings, passed away at home July 2, 2016. He was born in Vermillion on September 5, 1929 to Mathias and Rose (Beissel) Meier. He married Patsy Lou (O'Leary) February 7, 1951 in Hastings. Donald is preceded in death by his wife Patsy Lou; parents; and 5 siblings. He is survived by his children, Jerry (Jolene) Meier, Kathy (Mike) Griffin, Janny (Jeff) Nelson, Tim (Kelly) Meier, Colleen (Justin) Dorsey, and Linda Meier (Nick Varner); numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Florence, Pete, Dorothy, Rita, Harry, Jeannie; and many other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday (7/7) at 10:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St., in Hastings. A visitation will be held one hour prior to mass at church. Interment, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Cemetery. Military Honors provided by VFW Lyle Russell Post 1210.
