Donald J. Murtaugh

Donald J. Murtaugh, age 85, of Hastings, passed away at Prescott Nursing and Rehabilitation Center March 21, 2012. He was born in Hastings on February 8, 1927 to Joseph and Gertrude (Gergen) Murtaugh. Don was a US Navy Veteran, serving his country from 1944 - 1946. He worked as a Pile Driver and was a member of the Carpenters Union. He is preceded in death by his parents; nephews, John and Dan; and niece, Kristina. Don is survived by his son, Donald Murtaugh Jr.; his 6 brothers; and many other loving relatives and friends. A Memorial Service, officiated by Don's brother, Fr. Bill Murtaugh, will be held Tuesday (3/27) at 11:00 a.m. at Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring St., Hastings. A Visitation will be held 1/2 hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers to Hastings Family Service. The Wise Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
