Donald "Butch" Radke, age 76 of Hastings, died Sunday morning, September 17, 2017, at his home in Hastings. Donald Wayne, the son of Oscar and Ella (Drager) Radke was born June 23, 1941, in Hastings and graduated from Hastings High School with the class of 1959. He was united in marriage to Darlene Ferber on September 7, 1963, at Concordia Lutheran Church, South St. Paul. Butch enrolled in apprenticeship classes for the carpentry trade in 1964 and was a member of Local 97, Twin Cities Carpenters Joiners, where he worked as a carpenter for both residential and commercial. Donald enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to his lake home for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jean Buck; brother-in-law, Cecil Warner; and nephew, David Klein. Donald is survived by his wife of 54 years, Darlene Radke; sons, Todd (Lisa) Radke and Ted Radke (special friend, Missy); granddaughters, Quinlyn and Alexandra; great grandchild, Ayra; brothers, Roger (Joan) and Tom (Lisa); sisters, Rosemary (Kenneth) Klein, Joan Warner, Linda (Richard) Moritz, Nancy Radke, Virginia (William) Bauer and Loretta (Robert) Moritz; his best friend, Charles Mamer; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, September 21, 2017, at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, 202 West Eight St., in Hastings, with Reverend Jason Thiel and Reverend Jon Zimpelmann officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. A private interment will be held at Ten Mile Lake Cemetery near Fergus Falls, Minnesota. Arrangements are being completed by Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services of Hastings.
