Dolores M. Henry

On December 13, 2017, Dolores Margaret Henry, age 95, passed away at Regina Care Center in Hastings, MN where she had lived for 16 years. She was born in Mora, MN to Carl and Martha (Brenny) Wessner and grew up in Foley, MN. She received her RN degree from St. Cloud Hospital School of Nursing. In 1947 she married Dr. Joe Henry, the love of her life and her dearest friend. They shared 40 wonderful years together in Milaca, MN before Dr. Joe passed away. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, LuVerne Walsh Kosho; and her dear nephew, Patrick Walsh. Dolores is survived by her son, Dr. Joe (Kuchar) Henry of Duluth; and daughter, Mary Jo (Dr. John) Carlson of Hastings. Dolores has 6 grandchildren, Kyle and Chris (Selena) Henry; Erik (Angie) and Ryan (Suzanne) Carlson; Dana (Nino) Parisi; and Hope (Sal) Murra. She has 12 greatgrandchildren, Tristen, Krystal and Cecilia Carlson; Milo and Tillie Carlson; Flint, Jade, Beza and Ezra Parisi; Elia and Aria Murra; and Ada Deng Henry, who will have a baby brother in the spring. Dolores loved traveling with her husband, Joe, and spending time at their cottage on Mille Lacs Lake. She was very active in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Milaca. After Joe passed away, Dolores made a pilgrimage to Medjugoria, Croatia. She loved to read, send cards and letters to friends, play bridge, paint, collect Hummel statues, watch old musical movies, and enjoy time with her children and grandchildren. She was a gracious, loving, generous lady with a very strong faith in God. Dolores’ funeral was held at the Regina Chapel on Friday. Dec. 22, 2017, with interment at St. John’s Cemetery in Foley, MN.
