Dolores A. Bartelmehs

Dolores was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin at home to the late Frank and Agnes Glass, June 4th 1917 the 6th of 12 siblings. She married the late Walter Bartelmehs September 25th 1937 in Milwaukee Wisconsin, who some say swept her off her feet on the dance floor. Dolores and Walter had four daughters and lived in Milwaukee before relocating to Hastings Minnesota in 2009. She was surrounded by the comforts and challenges of growing up in a large family. Dolores was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and self-described cradle Catholic, which was instilled in her by her loving family, a passion that she embraced her entire life. Dolores was a devoted wife and mother. She was a strong matriarch who provided guidance to our family all through her life. She was a loving and caring Grandmother and Great Grandmother (GG). She loved and was loved by all her grandchildren and family and will be dearly missed! And we praise and thank God for blessing her with a long healthy life and us with a wonderful mother and grandmother. Until we see you again. Dolores is survived by her four daughters Barbara (Raymond) Miller, Judith Voit (Richard Parks), Mary Jo (Henry) Buffalo, Carole (Thomas) Budny. Sister Elizabeth (Daniel) Dutkiewicz and Sister-in-law Josephine Glass. Grandchildren Zachary, Joey and Gina Voit, Henry (Beth) Buffalo, Wally (Kari) Buffalo, Gabrielle (James) Carter, Kendrick J. Buffalo, Anna (Jason) Feinberg, Holly and Ian Wiroll and Nicole Budny. Great-grandchildren: Kyla, Mason, Ella, Kendall, Leo, Otis, Elijah, Ethan, Jacob, Maria, Alena , Roman, Adrianna, Asia, Jorden, Anya, Jaden, Brooklynn, Ava, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Walter Bartelmehs. Siblings: Marie (Clarence) Weis, Anton (Shirley) Glass, Loretta Glass, Joseph (Josephine) Glass, Dorothy (Carl) Eckrich, Margaret (David) Kelly, Genevieve (Robert) Iverson, Robert (Carmella) Glass, Geraldine (Anthony) Balistreri, Colletta Glass. Brother-in-law Willard (Virgina) Bartelmehs, Sister-in-law Betty Wosika. Funeral services for Dolores will be held on June 21, 2014 at St. Gregory the Great parish, 3160 S. 63rd Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53219. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. with the funeral mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. . Grave side services will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 3801 West Morgan Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53211 following the service. Following the grave side service the family invites all family and guests to celebrate the life of Dolores at a lunch to be held at Klemmer’s Banquet Center, 10401 West Oklahoma Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53227.
