Dianne V. Schiller

Dianne V. Schiller, age 65 of Miesville, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday evening, March 16, 2018. Dianne Viola, the daughter of William and Dorothy (Schultz) Otto was born on November 15, 1952, in Red Wing. Dianne was united in marriage to Francis Schiller on May 10, 1974. She was a beloved fan of the Miesville Mudhens, where she was a board member and inducted into the Mudhens Hall of Fame. Dianne was an employee of Smead Manufacturing for 33 years. While not watching the Mudhens or working she loved baking for her family, bowling, making crafts, and traveling to many Minnesota State Parks and surrounding states with Francis. She was preceded in death by her baby son; father, William Otto; mother and father in law, Odelia and Joseph Schiller; brother, Pete Otto; and brother in law, Art Potthoff. Dianne is survived by her loving husband, Francis; children, Dawn (Brian) Schmidt, Jason (Nicole) Schiller, and Carla (Mike) Fisher; grandchildren, Tyler, Treya, and Quintin Schmidt, Sawyer, Fynn, and Adley Schiller, and Austin, Brooke, and Dominic Fisher; mother, Dorothy (Al) Sladek; siblings, Ray (Toni) Otto, Shirley (John) Miller, Gary (Sheryl) Otto, Ed Otto, Paul (Debbie) Otto, Kathy (Steve) Welch, Gregg (Nancy) Otto, Laurie Potthoff, and Dodie (Ron) Braith; sister in law, Liz Otto; and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Miesville, with Father Terry Beeson officiating. Private family interment will be held at the parish cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held at church on Friday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Arrangements are being completed by Caturia, Smidt Starkson Funeral Home Crematory of Hastings.
