Dennis Stricker

Dennis Stricker, age 75 of Inver Grove Heights and recently of Hastings, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on January 25, 2022. Dennis F., the son of John and Virginia (Cardinal) Stricker, was born on May 31, 1946, in St. Paul, Minnesota. At a young age, his family moved to Cannon Falls where he graduated with the class of 1965. On June 27, 1970, he was united in marriage to Kathleen "Kathy" Link and they were blessed with fifty-one years of marriage and three wonderful sons. Dennis briefly continued his education prior to becoming a life-long trucker. Throughout the years, he owned and operated Stricker and Sons Trucking for twenty-eight years until his retirement. Dennis then drove bus for District 196 for fourteen years, and loved every minute of it. Outside of work, Dennis loved to fish, make sure the lines in his grass were straight, and always had time to play a good game of euchre or poker with friends. Most of all, Dennis cherished his family and enjoyed the simple times they spent together. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his grandparents. Dennis is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Kathy; sons, Paul (Shelby) Stricker, Scott Stricker, and Aaron (Tara) Stricker; grandchildren, Brittney, Brett, Mikey, Joey, and Mackenzie; great grandchildren, Evelynn and Colton; brother, Randy (Marilyn) Stricker; and by many other family members and close friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Hastings, with Father David Hennen officiating. Private family interment will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation for one hour prior to the Mass, and to a reception immediately following the Mass, all at church on Wednesday. Dennis' family requests memorials be dedicated to the donor's choice in lieu of flowers. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
