Dennis C. Mainz

Dennis C. Mainz, age 68 of Hastings, died on Sunday evening, December 1, 2019, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul following a recent farm accident. Dennis Carl, the son of John and Esther (Hanson) Mainz, was born on August 27, 1951, in Hastings. Following his graduation from Hastings High School, Dennis continued his education in Agriculture at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree. Dennis returned home to the family farm and continued to farm the land that has been in his family for over a century. He enjoyed playing cards, especially Euchere, going to auctions, riding motorcycle, and taking trips to Treasure Island. Dennis also enjoyed volunteering for St. Joseph Catholic Church at Little Log House every year and was a dedicated blood donor with Red Cross. He was preceded in death by his parents. Dennis is survived by his children, Clinton Mainz, Aaron Mainz, and Heather Mainz; grandson, Liam Mainz; siblings, Michael Mainz, Ken (Roxanne) Mainz, and Linda (Woody) Woodstrom; and by many other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 7, 2019, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Miesville, with Father Terry Beeson officiating. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery. Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday evening, and for one hour prior to the Mass on Saturday morning, all at church. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
