Denice G. Kehn

January 11, 1953 — January 3, 2021

Denice (Appenzeller) Kehn, age 67, of Hastings, MN passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at home. She was born on January 11, 1953 in South Minneapolis, MN to Bernard & Evelyn (Haub) Appenzeller. She married Kevin Kehn on May 26, 1973 in North Minneapolis, MN. She is survived by her husband, Kevin Kehn of Hastings, MN; her sons Brad (Cheryl) Kehn of Fostoria, Ohio, and Jerred (Jeni) Kehn of Duke, Missouri; grandchildren Timothy, Autumn, Hunter, Katrina, Grace, Elliana; her mother Evelyn; her siblings Bernie (Becky), Dan (Ernalee), Steven (Nancy), Sueann (Tim), Jeff; and many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her father Bernard Appenzeller, sister Bonnie Muller, brother Mathew Appenzeller. Over the years Denice and her loving husband Kevin, faithfully served in many ministry roles at the Harbor Church including Children’s Church Leaders, and she served for over 35 years at Pine Harbor Christian Academy and Kids Kare Center. During those years she served as parent volunteer staff, instructional aide, Home Economics Teacher, Interim Director for KKC, and retired as the Office Manager. She absolutely loved and dedicated her life to serving the kids and families of these ministries at The Harbor Church. Denice loved God, family and friends. Denice loved deeply and showed others what the genuine love of Jesus looked like, and she was greatly loved in return by all who knew her. To know her was to love her. She always took the time to ask someone how they were doing and to pray with them. She loved to read books, play games and work on painting, puzzles, games or Facetiming on her iPad. She was the calm in the storm and the glue for everyone, she would call, text and message anyone who was struggling so she could encourage them and pray for them. Her wisdom, godly advice and ability to listen impacted many that came in contact with her. Her heart was her two sons, six grandkids, and her two daughters-in-law. Denice was a prayer warrior and prayed for her family and others daily. She is remembered as an amazing woman, because she loved God with all her heart and embodied that pure love. She would want you to know she was a child of God, and if you’ve never made the decision to make Jesus the Lord and Savior of your life, we hope you will make that decision today. There will be a Visitation on January 30th from 10am – 1pm at The Harbor Church in Hastings, MN (11125 W Point Douglas Road), with a Celebration of Life Service following at 1pm.
