Delores H. Walker

Delores Walker, age 89, passed away in her sleep on Sunday, October 4, 2020, at her home in Hastings, MN. Delores was born on May 5, 1931, in Edinburg, ND. The daughter of Alvin and Rose Gullingsrud, she married Kenneth Walker on November 2, 1949. After their marriage, they settled near Park River, ND where they raised their four children and farmed on the family farm. During that period, she was actively engaged as a member of Park Center Lutheran Church, numerous women’s groups and the Parent Teacher Association at her children’s school. In 2009, she moved to Hastings, MN to be closer to her family, which she cherished. A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she enjoyed several hobbies including baking, which she shared freely with others, as well as gardening and entertaining. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her. Delores is survived by her sons, Robert (Oakdale, MN), Lynn (Yankton, SD) and David (Healdsburg, CA); two sisters; three grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; daughter, Mary; granddaughter Devon; parents and four brothers. A private graveside memorial service is being planned for family members at Park Center Lutheran Church in rural Walsh County ND. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
