Debra Kay Kummer

Debra Kay Kummer, age 55 of Denmark Township died September 2, 2012. She was born January 16, 1957 in Laredo, TX to John and Kathleen (Lang) Kummer. Debra formerly worked as a nurse in Rochester and also as a waitress. Her passion for the outdoors, especially boating was also joined by a love of caring for her plants and animals. Debra is survived by her son Michael Savage of Hastings; parents John and Kathleen Kummer of Hastings; sisters Jean Kummer of Eagan, Susan (Rick) Luiz of Santa Fe, NM, Mary (John) Saunders of Shorewood; brother John (Linda) Kummer of Hastings; nieces and nephews Ann and Laura Howley, Jessica Otis, Ryan Howley, Logan and Sarah Luiz, Jackson Saunders, Rebecca and John Kummer; also close friendArthur Ojala. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM Wednesday, September 5, 2012at the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 East Seventh St., Hastings and 1 hour prior to the 10:30 AM Funeral Mass, officiated by Fr. James Perkl on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 WestFifteenth St., Hastings. Pallbearers are Michael Savage, Susan Luiz, Ryan Howley, Bryan Larson, Jacob Graf, and Nick Whalen.
