David John Jr., the son of David John Sr. and Dawn (Pettit) Wigness, was born on June 29, 1994 in Hastings. He attended Hastings High School where he enjoyed being active in various choirs, especially: Show Choir, Men's Choir and Select Choral, and graduated with the class of 2012. He also enjoyed being active in Young Life as well. After high school, David worked for Lorentz Meats in Cannon Falls prior to enlisting in the U.S. Navy; he never stopped talking about all the friends he met in the Navy. Following his discharge, David began working for SPC Engineering and continued to work for the company until the date of his death. David loved hunting and fishing and even got his first deer last fall. Whether it was a road trip to Montana to hunt prairie dogs or California to see friends, David never missed the opportunity to travel. He truly enjoyed being with his family and friends and will always be remembered for being the humorous jokester. David was a food junkie; nothing was ever eaten without cheese or hot sauce on it. He was a wonderful cook, friend, beard-lover and someone who was always willing to lend a hand. He was also known to start and end his day in a whirlpool bath with lavender. David recently was given his grandfathers 75 International pick-up truck and had been showing it with great pride in many car shows. He also loved his "big-rig" pickup and his infamous Jetta. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Wally and Penny Pettit; his paternal grandparents, Don and Marian Wigness; and by his aunt, Darcie Bass. David is survived by his parents, David and Dawn Wigness of Hastings; he somehow survived with his four sisters, Allison (Jon) Weber of Sioux Falls, SD, Nichole Wigness of Sioux Falls, SD, Danielle Lewicki of Silver Creek, MN, and Desiree Wigness of Hastings; his nieces, whom he adored, Harper, Callie, and Everley Weber, Jada and Maya Bickham; his loving aunts and uncles, Bruce Wigness of Minneapolis, Gary Wigness of Minneota, MN, Brenda (Jack) Fahey of Hastings, Bruce (Laurie) Pettit of Thompson, IA, Dana Pettit of Hastings, Pat Pettit of Hastings, and Joe (Jess) Pettit of Hastings; his girlfriend, Lizabeth Sanders; his best feline friend, Optima; and by his many cousins, other relatives and friends.
