Dan Parent, age 48, of 744 Second Street, St. Paul Park, died, October 28, 2007 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Home in St. Paul. Daniel Michael Parent was born December 26, 1958 in St. Paul to Albert Joseph and Lucille Florence (nee Stack) Parent of St. Paul Park. He attended the local schools and graduated from Park High School (Park of Cottage Grove) in 1977. He worked for several years in Exeter, RI and Key West, FL before returning home to help care for his mother. In November of 1999 he joined the St. Paul Ford Plant and worked there until his death. Dan enjoyed camping, fishing, crocheting, playing pool and cards. He was a skilled carpenter and completely remodeled the interior of his home by himself. He was a former member of the Saloon softball team. Dan was devoted to his family and looked forward to hosting them in his home. Dan was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother James. Dan is survived by his partner, Jon Raymond, at home; ten siblings, Violet (Robin) Reibel of South St. Paul, Marlene (Sam) Cotosman of Murphy, TX, Bob (Vickie) Parent of Circle Pines, Ron (Debbie) Parent of Circle Pines, Duane Parent of Cottage Grove, Diane Nelson of Woodbury, Jerry (Colleen) Parent of Silver Lake, James Parent of St. Paul, Bonnie (Ruben)Cordova of Cottage Grove, and Mike (Julie) Parent of Cambridge; 20 nieces and nephews; 7 great-nieces and great-nephews, and many other relatives and friends. Also mourning is his devoted dog, Noodle. Special thanks are given to Dr. Timothy Toonen, RN Amy Schorn and the staff at Our Lady of Counsel Home. Honorary pallbearers are Dan's nephews: Jason Parent with the Navy in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and Kyle Nelson with the Marines in Iraq. Services: Saturday, November 10, 2pm, Community United Church of Christ, 1145 Summit Ave (Summit and Pullman), St. Paul Park, MN, 651/459-2543, Rev. Nancy Anderson, officiating.
