Daniel "Danny" Doffing

Daniel "Danny" Doffing, age 51 of Hastings, died peacefully Tuesday morning, October 31, 2017, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, following a recent illness. Daniel Dewayne, the son of Dewayne and Noreen (Flanaghan), was born on December 15, 1965, in St. Paul, Minnesota. Danny attended Hastings High School and graduated with the class of 1984. He then began his life-long career in the windows and door business. Over the years, he worked for many various companies including: Anderson, Waldorf, Rock 10, and Chandler Exhibits where he was working until his sudden heart attack. In January 2000, Danny was united in marriage to Deb Kanitz and were blessed twins, Krystel and Kyle, along with Debs children Cody and Austin. They later divorced in 2013. Outside of work, Danny loved hiking around Hastings, gardening, working in his yard, and learning the history of our community. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Danny is survived by his children, Krystel Doffing, Kyle Doffing, Cody Olson, and Austin Olson; his siblings, Linda (Tim) Lasenbby, Colleen Perez, and Steve Doffing; his special nephew, Keith Brown; his significant other, Renee Whyte; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 5, 2017, at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services in Hastings. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish Cemetery. A reception will be held at the funeral home following the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred in memory of Danny. Arrangements are being completed by Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services of Hastings.
