Dale Elaine Trepagnier Wegener

Dale Elaine Trepagnier Wegener, cherished wife, Mama, and Granny, passed away on March 13, 2022 at age 77. Survived by loving husband Ronald, son Robin, daughter-in-law Tricia, and grandson Matthew. Also brothers Kenneth and Randall, as well as the extended Wegener family and many other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by parents Ellis and Althea Sigrist Trepagnier, beloved grandmother Elmer Goetz Sigrist, and grandfathers Joseph Sigrist and John Trepagnier. Dale spent her entire life living beside the Mississippi River. She was born and raised in New Orleans and lived there until Hurricane Katrina. She and Ronald moved upriver and relocated to Hastings, Minnesota in 2005. As a teacher and later as a homemaker, Dale showed a keen attention to detail. This was evidenced by her impeccable decorating around the house particularly at Christmas, her beautiful flowers and plants, and her numerous cross-stitch projects. Her Southern cuisine and baked goods were legendary. She was an avid traveler, having visited all 50 states and numerous European countries. She also had a knack for winning contests and sniffing out bargains and freebies. She enjoyed watching her favorite TV shows and volunteering at St. Philip's Lutheran Church and the LeDuc Mansion. She was outgoing, talkative, and always willing to share stories about the good times and life down south. She was greatly loved by many and will remain forever in our hearts. The family wishes to express special thanks to Allina Hospice, especially nurses Jodie and Jen and social worker Judy, for their support during Dale's final days. The funeral service will be held at St. Philip's Lutheran Church, 1401 15th Street West, Hastings, Minnesota, on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be prior to the service starting at 10:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow the service.
