Curtis Waverly Christie

Curtis Waverly Christie, age 84 of Hastings died Friday, August 16, 2013 at Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul. Curtis was born January 15, 1929 in Faribault, MN to Waverly and Florence (Watson) Christie. He was a graduate of Faribault High School, class of 1946 and married Yvonne Chapman in 1952. Curtis was formerly employed at the Minnesota Dept. of Transportation for 40 years as a Highway Engineer.He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law David Coykendall; sisters Marjorie Olsen and Marion Reinhardt. Curtis is survived by his wife Yvonne; children Sandra J. Christie of Eagan, Warren C. (Rebecca) Christie of Kimball, Beverly A. (Frank Rhame) Christie of Minneapolis and Kenneth W. (Karol) Christie of Colorado Springs; grandchildren Elizabeth Coykendall, Jeremy (Denise) Christie, Amber Christie, Allen Chace, Kevin Chace, Daniel Christie, Catherine Christie; great-grandchildren Lauren, Jackson and Theodore Christie.The Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Chris Kneen will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 11:00 am at the United Methodist Church, 615 West Fifteenth Street in Hastings. Visitation will be Tuesday 4-8 pm at the church and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Private interment at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Faribault. Grandpa requested that his grandchildren be his pallbearers.
