Clarine E. Kruger

Clarine E. Kruger, age 90 of Hastings, died peacefully on Saturday evening, March 27, 2021, at Hastings Senior Health and Living ~ Augstana. Clarine Edna, the daughter of Blair and Edna (Barrows) Sweet, was born on November 3, 1930, in Cumberland, Wisconsin. On November 21, 1948, she was united in marriage to Louis Christensen in Rock Falls, and he later preceded her in death on July 2, 1989. Five years later, she was united in marriage to Herbert Kruger on June 19, 1993, in Van Zandt County, Texas, and he later preceded her in death on July 17, 1997. Clarine lived in Northern Minnesota, St. Paul, and Rosemount prior to settling in Hastings where she made many friends at Oak Ridge Manor. She was a longtime employee at Smead Mfg., and retired after thirty-years of employment. Clarine enjoyed playing cards, listening to music, and loved to dance. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her daughters. She was preceded in death by her parents; twin sister, Clarice Anderson and sisters, Bernice Cifaldi, Mildred Van Nortwick, Carol Benson, and Alice Gordon; spouses, Louis Christensen and Herbert Kruger; and by her sons-in-law, Donald Reinardy and Robert Kruse. Clarine is survived by her daughters, Simone Reinardy, Mary Lou Kruse, Lavonne (Ken) Folch, and Connie (Daniel) Preuss; fourteen grandchildren, Donald, Ronald, and Robert Reinardy, Renae Reinardy Spiry, Jerry, Benjamin, and Shannon Kruse, Tina Folch, Lisa Folch, and Angela Charboneau Folch, Tammy Hammick, Bridgett Bauer, Louis Preuss, and Clarissa Preuss; fourteen great grandchildren; sister, Marie Christensen; and by many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings, with Gordon Gathright officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Hastings. Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
