Charles Conrad (Chuck) Dougherty, age 73, of Crawfordsville, IN, formerly of Hastings, MN, died at home on October 10, 2019, after a battle with AML (acute myeloid leukemia). Chuck was born to Delia and Clinton Dougherty on June 30, 1946, in Grand Coulee WA. After the loss of his parents, Chuck moved to Robbinsdale MN to live with his aunt and uncle, Marion and Fred Britton. He graduated from Robbinsdale High School in 1965. Chuck married Rosemary (Rie) Marthaler in Coates, MN, on November 28, 1969. They resided in Hastings MN until 2016, when they relocated to Crawfordsville, IN, to be near their daughter and her family. Chuck will be remembered for his love of life and his ability to make us laugh. He never lost his sense of humor. Chuck never let life’s circumstances steal his joy or define who he was and he never met a stranger. Chuck loved his family and friends well. He enjoyed fishing, camping, video games, collecting Roy Rogers memorabilia and sharing his passion for music and movies through UPChuck Studios. He loved cars, both old and new. In his earlier years he worked as an auto body repairman and more recently he drove vehicles for two local car dealerships. Chuck will be greatly missed by his wife of nearly 50 years, Rosemary, his daughter Carly (David) Bowers, his grandchildren Samantha (Rudy) Pesich and Nathan (Kaitlyn) Bowers, and his great-granddaughter Harper Pesich who adored her Bepaw. Also surviving are his siblings Sandi Search, Keith (Carmen) Britton, Todd (Beth) Britton and Holly Britton. Chuck will also be missed by many other family members and friends. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Clinton and Delia Dougherty, Fred and Marion Britton, by his siblings Myrla Pierce and Mark Britton and by his lifelong hero, king of the cowboys, Roy Rogers. A local Celebration of Chuck's Life will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., with a short memorial service at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
