Charles Beno

BENO,Charles P. age 68 of Hastings passed away April 28, 2009 at Augustana Health Care Center. He was born July 9, 1940 to Robert and Edna Beno in Des Moines, IA. Charles was in the 101st Airborne Division in the US Army. He married Vicki Adsit at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, IA on October 15, 1966. An avid hunter and fisherman, Charles also loved reading, was a proud grandfather and a member of the VFW in Cottage Grove. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Doug. He is survived by his loving wife, Vicki of Hastings; daughters, Allison (Mark) Reuter of Hastings; and Shannon (Joe) Tunk of Oswego, IL; grandchildren, Chelsea; Alaya; Austin; Savannah; and Aiden; siblings, Jody; Linda; Dennis; David; Christine; Donna; Mary; and Tom; other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial, Friday (5/1), 10:00 am at St. Rita's Catholic Church, 8694 80th St. S., Cottage Grove, with a visitation 1 hour prior to mass at church. Interment following at Lakeside Cemetery in Hastings with Military Honors being provided by VFW Lyle Russell Post 1210. The pallbearers are Bill Sankot; Reed Drangstveit; Paul Reuter; John Reuter; and Nick Reuter. The Wise Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
