Chad A. Greiner

Chad A. Greiner, age 39; of Hastings passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Chad was a Hastings High School Graduate - class of 1987 and a long time member of the St. Paul/Minneapolis Carpenters Union Local #87. He was preceded in death by his brother Cory; grandfather Orville Sturm; grandparents Otto and Rose Greiner; and father-in-law Thomas McNamara. Chad is survived by his wife Jane (McNamara) whom he married May 26, 1990; children Chelsey and Matt; parents Gordon and Faye; grandmother Olivia Sturm; aunts and uncles Dean and Gladys Sturm, Lloyd and Joy Greiner, Terry and Cindy Sturm, Sandy and Dick Greiner, Pam and Neil Wiese; mother-in-law JoAnn McNamara; also many cousins, nieces and nephews. The Funeral Mass for Chad will be held at 10am Friday, October 17, 2008 at the St. Elizabeth Ann SetonCatholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St. Hastings. The visitation will be held from 4-7pm Thursday at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 E. Seventh St., Hastings and also 1 hour prior to service at church on Friday.The pallbearers are Dan McNamara, Bruce McNamara, Gary McNamara, Jim McNamara, Terry Sturm, and Travis Greiner.Memorials are preferred. The family wishes to thank all of the people who have so compassionately cared for Chad in his final days at Fairview Southdale Hospital, Edina and the Mayo Clinic, Rochester.
