Cathy J. Vitzthum

Cathy J. Vitzthum, age 57 of Prescott, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, September 1, 2020, at United Hospital in St. Paul following an extended illness. Cathy Joleen, the daughter of Loren and Sharon (Fox) Hahle, was born on February 11, 1963, in Algona, Iowa. Following her graduation from Algona High School, Cathy was united in marriage to Kirk Vitzthum, and they were blessed with three children prior to being divorced. Cathy was a longtime cook at the Prescott Nursing and Rehab Center and recently had to quit due to her declining health. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Cathy also enjoyed planting flowers, watching the hummingbirds, and was an amazing cook. Even through many life challenges, Cathy's love for her family and her family's love for her continued to remained strong. She was preceded in death by her father; and by her close family friend, Bobby Choquette. Cathy is survived by her children, Jennifer (Darin) Duffy, Jacob Vitzthum, and Gabrielle (Jake) Matz; grandchildren, Madison, Jenna, Aiden, Luna, and Aria; mother, Sharon Hahle; siblings, Vienna Hahle, Angela Hahle, Lonnie (Shel) Hahle, and Tera Hahle; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Private family graveside services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers or cards, please consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society in memory of Cathy.
