Catherine Van Dyke Luttrell

Catherine A. Van Dyke Luttrell, age 54, of Hastings died March 4, 2009 at the University of Minnesota Hospital in Minneapolis. Catherine was born to Allen J. and Frances T. (Schmitz) Carlson on May 29, 1954 in Red Wing, MN. She was a 1972 graduate of Hastings High School and had worked as an accountant in the construction industry. Catherine married Hugh Luttrell on December 6, 2003 in Hastings. She was preceded in death by her father and 2 brothers, Mark and Edward Carlson. Catherine is survived by her husband, Hugh; daughter Rachel (John) Mengelkoch of Ramsey, MN; step-daughters Crystal (Justin) Kelso and Amber (Joe) Young all of Des Moines, IA; grandchildren Jade, Alex, Jessica, and Logan; mother Frances Carlson of Hastings; brothers Frank Carlson of Washington, D.C., Robert (Teri) Carlson and Paul (Debra) Carlson all of Hastings, Donald Carlson of South St. Paul, and sister Christine (Patrick) Murphy of Hastings. A Memorial Service, officiated by Fr. Jay Kythe, will be held at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 East Seventh Street, Hastings,on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. Avisitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
