Carol M. Reinardy

Carol M. Reinardy, age 85 of New Trier, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday morning, November 6, 2019. Carol Mary, the daughter of Edward and Arline (O'Reilly) Wojcik, was born on October 30, 1934, in Red Wing. Following her graduation for Red Wing High School with the class of 1953, Carol worked for the phone company in Red Wing and was united in marriage to Joseph M. Reinardy Jr. on June 20, 1964, in Red Wing. They moved to Hastings for five years, and then to the Reinardy Family Farm where they raised their family and created many memories. From hauling hogs to the twin cities to combining, Carol truly enjoyed working side-by-side with Joe for over fifty years, right up until her passing. Whether it was caring for the livestock, tending to the many flower gardens, or mowing the lawn, Carol was passionate about every detail that was necessary to make their farm successful. Outside of farming and raising their family, Carol was a devote Catholic and member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Trier. No matter how busy they were with farm duties and raising a family, she and Joe never missed praying the rosary, daily prayers, or attending Mass. Carol was also a talented caretaker to anyone in need. She always had a home cooked meal ready for anyone that stopped by, and was especially known for her apple pie and fresh bread. She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Merle, Francis, Trudy Johnson, Wanda Hartung, and Audrene in infancy. Carol is survived by her husband of 55 years, Joseph; children, Alan (Melanie) Reinardy, Debra (John) Carpenter, John (Heather Holmgren) Reinardy, and Jody (Kim) Reinardy; twenty three grandchildren and one great grandchild; and by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 9, 2019, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Trier, with Father Michael Tix officiating. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery. Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. , with a rosary at 10:30 a.m., at church on Saturday morning. In lieu of flowers, Carol's personal request was to have Masses said in her memory. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
