Carlton G. Blomgren

Carlton G. Blomgren, age 88, of Hastings, passed away October 2, 2013. Carlton served in the Pacific in World War II on the USS McCord. He made a career in the Navy until retiring from the Naval Satellite Operations Center in Rosemount, Minnesota. In his retirement he volunteered with Meals on Wheels and at Regina Memorial Hospital in Hastings, Minnesota. He was the caregiver for his wife Sara throughout her battle with Alzheimer's. He loved fishing, baseball, cribbage, and life. He is survived by his daughter Nancy Blomgren, his sister Jacqueline Allen, and his companion Linda Deutsch. A Memorial Service, officiated by Pastor Josh Bernau, will be held Saturday (10/12) at 11:00 am at Hope Lutheran Church, 16898 Michael Ave, Hastings. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Interment, Pleasant View Memorial Gardens in Burnsville.
