Carla Pauline Reichenberg

Carla P. Reichenberg, age 86 of Hastings, died Sunday, July 20, 2014 at the Augustana Care Center in Hastings. Carla was born July 6, 1928 in Hastings to Carl and Freda (Herkenratt) Hankes. A 1946 graduate of Hastings High School, she married Aaron Reichenberg on December 18, 1952 in Waukon, Iowa. She was a long-time employee at Vermillion State Bank in Hastings. Carla was a member of the Hastings Chapter of Eastern Star for 50 years. She was a long time member of St. Lukes Episcopal Church and a much sought after vocalist for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Aaron, sisters Marlene Olesen and JoAnne Kerstetter; brother Dale Hankes. Carla is survived by her daughter Ann (Kevin) Martin of Hastings; grandchildren Aaron and Adam Ruikka, Kelsey and Zachary Martin; siblings Keith (Barb) Hankes, Janice Langenfeld, Pat Bauer, Lois (Tom) Soleim, Beth Hankes, Justin (Ginny) Hankes, Michael Hankes, Linda (Bill) Hamman; also many nieces, nephews and friends. The Funeral Service, officiated by Fr. Frank VanDeSteeg will be held 10 AM Wednesday, July 23 at St. Lukes Episcopal Church, 615 Vermillion Street, Hastings. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will follow at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
