Billy Nash

Billy J. Nash, age 91 of Hastings, died peacefully following an extended illness on Friday morning, February 24, 2017, at White Pines Senior Living in Cottage Grove. Billy James, the son of Clarence and Lowanda (Mickelberry) Nash, was born on January 30, 1926, in Webb City, Oklahoma. Following his graduation from high school, Billy enlisted in the United States Navy during WWII and was later granted an honorable discharge. On February 14, 1948, he was united in marriage to Marion E. Sellars in Ponca City, Oklahoma; she later preceded him in death on February 5, 2013. Billy was a longtime employee of Koch Industries and retired as a shift supervisor. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Hastings and enjoyed playing crossword puzzles and working on models. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Betty Jo Dritch; his wife, Marion; and by his grandchildren, Logan Siebenaler and Nicholas Nash. Billy is survived by his children, Linda (Mike) Siebenaler and Gary Brent (Christine) Nash; his grandchildren, Patrick (Jennifer) Siebenaler, Zoe Nash, and Maya Nash; his three great grandchildren, Benjamin, Margaret, and Alexander Siebenaler; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2 p.m. Friday, March 24, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, with Father T.J. McKenzie officiating. Interment with Military Honors provided by Hastings VFW Lyle Russell Post 1210 will follow at the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held at church from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Arrangements are being completed by Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services of Hastings.
