Betty L. Kulzer, age 70, of Hastings died July 3, 2011 in Rochester. Betty was born on September 11, 1940 in Hastings to John and Gertrude (Wollmering) Stoffel, She graduated from Hastings High School in 1958. Betty was united in marriage to Robert M. Kulzer on August 25, 1962 in Hastings. She was an avid gardener, cook and loved to travel. Betty retired from the Dakota County District Court after many years as chief deputy clerk. She was preceded in death by her parents; and grandson Adam. Betty is survived by her husband Bob; daughters Kate (Kevin) Spitzer of Seattle and Theresa (Alex) Kopiecki of Edina; grandchildren Madeline, Ethan and Aubin; brother Jerome (Mary) Stoffel of Farmington; and brother-in-law Norbert Kulzer of Milwaukee, WI. The Funeral Mass, officiated by Rev. James Perkl will be held at 10:00AM Friday, July 8 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St., Hastings. Visitation will be from 4-8PM Thursday, July 7 at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 E.7th St., Hastings, and also one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery. Pallbearers are Jerome Stoffel, Mike Zappa, Norbert Kulzer, Alex Kopiecki, Kevin Spitzer and Bob Thompson. Memorials are preferred to Como Park Conservatory.
