Betty J. Johnson

Betty J. Johnson, age 88 of Hastings died Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Augustana Health Care Center. Betty was born August 20, 1925 in Pierce County, WI to Lambert and Martha (Blettner) Simon. She married Clair F. Johnson on June 18, 1947 at St. Joseph�s Catholic Church in Prescott, WI. She was employed as a bartender at the Hastings Country Club for 42 years prior to her retirement. Betty was a dedicated American Legion and VFW Auxiliary member. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clair; daughter Janice; eleven siblings and grandchild Betty Catherine. Betty is survived by her three daughters Carol Jean Johnson of Cannon Falls, Marla Johnson of Hastings and Teresa (Scott) Robinson of Red Wing; son Michael (Pam) Johnson of Knapp, WI; four grandchildren Christopher Johnson, Katie Crawly, Baines Johnson and Ashley Johnson; 10 great-grandchildren; sister Patricia Simon and sister-in-law Audrey Simon, both of Prescott; also many friends and her �family� at the Hastings Country Club. The funeral Mass, officiated by Fr.Cole Krackewill be held 10:30 AM Monday, September 30 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 West Fifteenth St, Hastings. Visitation will be held from 2-6 PM Sunday at the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 East Seventh St, Hastings and one hour prior to the service at church. Pallbearers are Christopher Johnson, Baines Johnson, Chad Robinson, Ronald Platson, John McCauley and Clayton Johnson. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Prescott.
