Barry E. Heldman

Barry E. Heldman, a wonderful grandfather, age 66, of Cottage Grove, passed away at his home on February 22, 2011. He was born November 16, 1944 in St. Paul, MN to Floyd and Ruth Heldman. He married Mary Marty on June 26, 1965 at the United Church of Christ in Old Cottage Grove. Barry worked for 3M for 39 years where he has 3 patents. He loved to fish at the cabin, tinker in his garage, and he was always willing to give and enjoyed helping people above all. He is preceded in death by his parents. Barry is survived by his wife, Mary of Cottage Grove; daughter, Dianna (Wayne) Brown of Hudson; son, Devin (Teresa) Heldman of Prescott; grandchildren, Kayla and Jesse Brown; and Connor and Chloe Heldman; brother, Dennis (Lucy) Heldman; sister, Barb (Duane) Hilmas; sister, Cheryl (Fred) Freeman; other relatives and friends. Funeral Service, Monday (2/28), 11:00 a.m. at Cottage Grove United Church of Christ, 7008 Lamar Ave. S., Cottage Grove. Visitation, Sunday (2/27) from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring St., Hastings and one hour prior to service at church. Interment in the Old Cottage Grove Cemetery.
