Barbara R. Dick

Barbara R. Dick, age 74, of Hastings, died peacefully on Monday, February 2, 2015 at her home following an extended illness. Barbara Ruth, the daughter of Russell and Viva (Radke) Linnell, was born on September 13, 1940 in Newport. On January 26, 1963, she married Alton Dick at the Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Welch. He later preceded her in death on February 18, 1996. Barbara loved being a homemaker, crocheting, garage saling, being outside, visiting with family, and making friends while shopping at Wal-Mart. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alton; and by her nephew, Chris Anderson. She is survived by her son, Dennis Dick of Hastings; her grandchildren, Michael Dick of Hastings and Yvonne Dick of Goodhue; her siblings, Arlene (Chuck) Palmquist of Le Center, Russell Linnell of Pine City, Sylvia (David) Anderson f Welch, Jerome (Karen) Linnell of Welch, Karen (Paul) Doyle of Welch, Gordon (Denise) Linnell of Welch, Viva Miller of Maiden Rock, WI, and Lyle (Judy) Linnell of Welch; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cornerstone Bible Church, 735 East Tenth Street, in Hastings, with Reverend James Bzoskie officiating. Interment will be held at the Lakeside Cemetery in Hastings. Visitation will be held at the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services, 201 East Seventh Street, in Hastings on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and for one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Memorials are preferred. Arrangements are being completed by the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services in Hastings.
