Arvie �Bud� Frandrup, age 85, of Vermillion died December 30, 2011. Bud was born April 20, 1926 in Vermillion Township to Fred and Veronica (Reiter) Frandrup. He served in the US Army and married Dorothy Bauer on September 13, 1946 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Hastings. Patriarch and founder of Frandup Masonry, he began the business in 1954 and retired in 1996. He was a man of all seasons and was an avid fisherman, bowler, golfer, hunter, and friend to many. One of his biggest joys was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Dorothy; infant son Joseph, son Charlie; 4 brothers, Arthur, Frederic �Fritz�, Don, and Jerry. Bud is survived by 8 children, Robert (JoLynn) Frandrup of Hastings, Donna (Paul) Wagner of Hastings, Richard (Mary) Frandrup of Hastings, LuAnn (Larry) Beissel of New Trier, Linda (Bob) Myers of Vermillion, David (Lisa) Frandrup of Hastings, Daniel Frandrup of Hastings, and Bruce (Patricia) Frandrup of Hampton; daughter-in-law Karen Frandrup; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and sister Mary Weatherly of Rosemount. The Funeral Mass, officiated by Fr. Stan Mader will be held 11:00 AM Monday, January 2, 2012 at St. John�s Catholic Church in Vermillion, followed by interment in the parish cemetery. The visitation will be held 4-8 PM Sunday at the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 East Seventh St., Hastings and 1 hour prior to the service at church. Pallbearers are grandsons Curt Wagner, Chris Frandrup, Pat Frandrup, Mike Frandrup, Brian Frandrup, and Derek Myers.
