Anthony "Tony" G. Kasel

Anthony G. "Tony" Kasel, age 76, of Hastings died Saturday, June 27, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Tony was born December 22, 1938 in Vermillion Township to Anthony Joseph and Dora Katherine (Reinardy) Kasel. He attended Hastings area schools and was a veteran of the United States Army National Guard. He married Mary Jean Endres on September 14, 1963 at St. Mathias Catholic Church in Hampton, MN. Tony was a longtime employee of the Hastings School District 200 and retired in 2005. He was also a volunteer firefighter. Tony was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Shirley Kasel and a sister Janet McNamara. He is survived by his wife Mary Jean, his children Shelley Kasel of Hastings, Steven (Anne) Kasel of Vermillion and Thomas (Lori) Kasel of Cologne, MN; grandchildren Lucas (Claire) Kasel, Katelyn Brandon Kasel, Jaci (Cory) Dukowitz, Joel (Melissa) Ellenbecker Max Kasel; great grandchildren Quentin and Milo Dukowitz and Phineas and Atticus Ellenbecker; 7 siblings Kenneth (Alvenia) Kasel, Judy (Leon) Zweber, Jane (Gary) Eberspacher, Mary (Donald) Haas, Bernadette (James) Kautio, Theodore (Kay) Kasel and James (Leslie) Kasel; also by a brother in law William McNamara and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 201 7th St. E., Hastings and also 1 hour prior to the funeral at church. The Funeral Mass, officiated by Fr. David Hennen, will be at 10:30 AM Thursday, July 2, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 15th Street West, Hastings. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
