Anthony J. Macioch Sr.

Anthony J. Macioch Sr., age 77 of Hastings, died peacefully on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family, following an extended illness. Anthony Joseph was born July 8, 1939 in St. Paul to Joseph A. Macioch and Elenor Attwood. Tony was a graduate of St. Paul Johnson High School, class of 1958 and married Dorothy Emerson on June 25, 1960 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in St. Paul. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and had worked in manufacturing for Sealy Mattress, and was a Saab auto mechanic specialist. Tony is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Dorothy; his four children, Deborah Macioch, Anthony Macioch Jr., Teresia (Paul) Rice and Patrinella Kremer; his eight grandchildren, Tanya, Rebecca, Destiny, Derek, Adam, Michael, Damien and Deaunt-e; also seven great grandchildren and several siblings. A Celebration of his Life will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services, 201 East Seventh Street, Hastings, with Chaplain Greg Gilbert officiating. Interment with honors will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Assembly Area #2 at 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
