Ann E. Teskey

Ann Elizabeth Teskey, age 81, Oakdale, Minnesota, passed away on December 10, 2020. She was born on January 16, 1939 in Butte, Montana, to Calvin and Elizabeth Kielsmeier. She grew up in Elgin, Illinois where her father was a practicing physician. In 1959, she married Richard Teskey and in 1961 she graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.S. in nursing. She subsequently worked at hospitals in Iowa City, Iowa, Hazel Crest, Illinois and Fridley and as a school nurse for 30 years in Fridley and St. Paul and retired in 2002. She served multiple leadership roles in state nursing including President of the Minnesota School Nurse Association. She was a fierce advocate for student health and well-being and was particularly supportive of disadvantaged students. Ann loved gardening and flowers and was known for her amazing backyard roses. She also enjoyed spending time at the lake cabin where she was an avid bird and nature watcher while overseeing improvements to the property. She was an active member of Faith Christian Reformed Church for many years and enjoyed innumerable friendships as a result. She enjoyed time with her friends and family. Ann is survived by her husband of 61 years, Richard; her children, Gary, Julie (Frank) Papatheofanis, and Wendy (Tom) Krahn. She is also survived by her brother James Kielsmeier and her sister Catherine Seybold; and by 8 grandchildren. A private memorial service will be held at Faith Christian Reformed Church in New Brighton, with interment following at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
