Ann A. Schaffer

Ann A. (O'Brien) Schaffer, age 83 of Hastings died December 19, 2011 at Augustana Health Care Center. Ann was born August 28, 1928 in Clear Lake, MI to Paul and Catherine (Dekart) O�Brien. She married Leonard J. Schaffer on May 28, 1949. Ann was preceded in death by her parents; husband Leonard; sister Mary Hamilton; brothers Mike, Frank, Carl, Joe, Bill and infant Martin O�Brien. Survivors include her children, Lola (Daniel) Haster of Ellsworth, WI, Becky (Alfred) Stanley of Perrysville, OH, Cindy (friend Rick) Schaffer of Hastings, Susan (James) Fox of Miesville, Brian (Diane) Schaffer of Lakeville, Jeffery (Mary) Schaffer of Hastings, Paul Schaffer of St. Paul Park; also 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; brother John �Hub� (Rae Mary) O�Brien. The Funeral Mass, officiated by Fr. Cole Kracke will be held 10:30amThursday, December 22, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 West Fifteenth St., Hastings followed by interment in the parish cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4-7pm Wednesday at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 East Seventh St., Hastings and 1 hour prior to the service at church. The pallbearers are grandsons John Haster, Adam Haster, Chris O�Halloran, Dan O�Halloran, Jason Fox, Nick Schaffer, and Dylan Schaffer.
