Andrew I. Pollard, age 51, of Hastings, MN, died Saturday, October 4, 2014, at United Hospital in St. Paul. Andrew Ivor, the son of A. Ivor and Terri (Mueller) Pollard, was born on March 29, 1963, in Bellevue, WA. After graduating from high school, Andrew continued his education at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA, and graduated with the class of 1986. On January 11, 1986, he was united in marriage to Evonne Sorenson in Hastings. Andrew worked at Thomson Reuters and also enjoyed being actively involved with the Hastings Police Department as a Reserve Officer for over twenty years. Outside of working, Andrew loved camping, watching movies, Star Trek, the roller skating business and, most of all, spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed volunteering at Hope Lutheran Church, his two daughters school activities, and with Black Dirt Theater. Andrew will be remembered by his friends and family for his warm and friendly smile, his humble, gentle spirit, and his quick sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his father, A. Ivor Pollard; his father-in-law, S.P. "Sam" Sorenson; and by his half-sister, Hilary Pollard. Andrew is survived by his wife, Evonne; his daughters, Thalia Pollard and Samantha Pollard; his mother, Terri Pollard; his mother-in-law, Donna Sorenson; the entire extended Sorenson Family; his half-siblings living in England; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 10, 2014, at 11:00 AM at Our Saviours Ev. Lutheran Church (400 9th St. W.) in Hastings, with Pastor Josh Bernau of Hope Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be held at Our Saviours Ev. Lutheran Church on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and for one hour prior to services on Friday morning. Interment will be held at Lakeside Cemetery in Hastings.Arrangements are being completed by the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home in Hastings.
