Alvin B. "Punky" Ahrendt Jr.

Alvin "Punky" Ahrendt Jr., age 50 of Hastings, died suddenly at home on Friday, June 22, 2018. Alvin Bernard Jr., the son of Alvin Sr. and Beverly (Hill) Ahrendt, was born on January 16, 1968, in Hastings. Following his education, Punky attended Dakota County Technical College where he studied diesel mechanics. Punky was a truck driver for many years, and a diehard Vikings fan who enjoyed to collect just about anything that had the Vikings on it. He was preceded in death by his father; and by his siblings, Leslie, Raymond, and Wayne Gray. Punky is survived by his mother, Beverly "Jean" Ahrendt; nieces and nephews, Antionette Kasiraman, Gillian Roberts, Melissa Gray, and Eric Gray; and by many other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Punkys Life will be held 5:00 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2018, at Caturia, Smidt Starkson Funeral Home Crematory of Hastings, with Pastor Wes Koehler officiating. Private family interment will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday evening. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred in memory of Punky. Arrangements are being completed by Caturia, Smidt Starkson Funeral Home Crematory of Hastings.
