Alexander G. Bezat, age 88, of Shorewood died July 29, 2011 at Regina Medical Center.Alex was born on May 8, 1923 in Minneapolis to Gust and Todora (Marku) Bezat.He graduated from the University of Minnesota as a Chemical Engineer in 1944 and served in the U.S. Navy for two years.Alex was united in marriage to Avis Duesterhoeft on July 1, 1950 in Hutchinson. He worked at Honeywell from 1946-1986 as an Aeronautical Reliability Engineer working on laser guidance systems for Gemini and Apollo missions as well as countless other projects. Alex played championship bridge and also loved to gold and play tennis. After his retirement he enjoyed gardening, working on his house and taking long walks. His was a long life well lived.He is survived by his wife Avis; children Barbara Bezat (William M. Riley)of St. Paul, Frederick Bezat (Eileen)of Eden Prairie, Theodore Bezat (Susan Shapiro) of Minneapolis,and Elizabeth Bezat of Flora, Mississippi; grandchildren William F. Riley, Alexandra Riley, David Bezat, and Steven Bezat; siblings Gregory Bezat (Irene) of Santa Rosa, California, and Katheryn Brown (Tom) of Dayton, Ohio. A gathering of friends and family will be 2PM Friday, August 19th at Lakewood Memorial Chapel, Minneapolis. Memorials are preferred to Habitat for Humanity
